You Are The Director!
As a died-in-the wool techie, you’ve never met a technical challenge you couldn’t conquer. You have a genuine interest in learning all you can about how to make your handling of sight and sound second to none.
Your biggest problem may be that you don’t know when to stop. You need to incorporate the old producer’s adage “Videos are never really finished. They’re just abandoned.” That may sound harsh, but it’s actually quite true.
Up to a point there are benefits to your audience in terms of how comfortable you make it for them to watch. But you can cross a line where the only person who sees the difference in that one spot where there are a few too many red pixels…is you.
Focus your attention on creating systems for making video, so that each time it only takes the amount of time it takes to read the script. That’s a goal worthy of your skill!
I'm going to send you some guidance on this starting today. It always helps to get more clarity so that you can gracefully side-step the blocks that have been holding you in place.
